Capitol Lakes Hosts Grand Reopening Celebration August 2, 2008

Downtown Madison’s only retirement community celebrates downtown living with gourmet tastings, a book signing, live music, and guided tours

(Madison, Wisconsin) July 22, 2008 – Capitol Lakes™ (formerly Meriter Retirement), a not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community in downtown Madison, is celebrating its expansion and renewal at a special public event, Capitol Lakes Grand ReOpening, Celebrating the Best of Madison Downtown Living, on August 2, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy gourmet tastings, guided tours, live music by pianist Michael Massey, and a special guest appearance by Stuart Levitan, who will sign copies of his book, Madison, The Illustrated Sesquicentennial History, 1856­–1931.  In addition, Paul Riepma, Senior Vice President of Pacific Retirement Services, Inc., (for which Capitol Lakes is now an affiliate) will give his presentation, “The Future is Now,” every 20 minutes during the event.

Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Main Reception Desk in the Grand Hall of Capitol Lakes at 333 West Main Street, Madison, Wisconsin 53703. RSVPs are appreciated but not required. After registration, guests can remain in the Grand Hall for the Welcome Ceremony at
10:30 a.m. and then move to the Main Entrance at 11:00 a.m. for the Sign Unveiling Ceremony. Festivities will follow, including the presentations and book signing, gourmet tastings prepared by the Capitol Lakes Executive Chef and culinary team, guided tours of the campus, and a Grand Prize Drawing for An Evening at the Overture Center, which includes dinner at Capitol Lakes.
