Capitol Lakes and Owner Pacific Retirement Services (PRS) Celebrate One-Year Anniversary
Founded in 1975, downtown Madison’s only retirement community became an affiliate of national leader PRS and was renamed “Capitol Lakes” on April 2, 2008.
(Madison, Wisconsin) April 2, 2009 – One year ago today, Capitol Lakes™ retirement community (www.retirement.org/madison) became a proud affiliate of Pacific Retirement Services, Inc. (PRS; www.retirement.org), a national leader in the senior living and health care industry, which now manages Madison’s only downtown retirement community under its new name Capitol Lakes.
With PRS’s resident-centered care philosophy and its mission of creating and enhancing lifestyle opportunities for seniors, staff members of this accredited, not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community have already conducted resident surveys to gain feedback, integrated new technologies, improved billing processes, and restructured the senior living and health care programs to offer more benefits to residents.
Among these changes is a change in attitude—from a medical approach with separate services and buildings, to a cohesive urban community designed for healthy aging in a friendly lifestyle that mirrors cultural downtown Madison.
