Tom Becker, President and CEO of Pacific Retirement Services, announces pending retirement.
Brian McLemore, PRS Executive Vice President of Development and Marketing, appointed new PRS President.

(Medford, Ore.) April 15, 2010 - Pacific Retirement Services, Inc. (PRS), a national leader in the senior housing and health care industry (www.pacificretirement.com), has announced the pending retirement of its President and CEO, Tom Becker.

Brian McLemoreWilliam (Bill) Thorndike, who serves as Chair of the PRS Board of Directors, said, “Tom has helped build PRS into a nationally known not-for-profit corporation over the past 32 years. While all of us at PRS will miss his leadership, his vision, and his drive to better serve seniors, we wish him all the best. He will continue to work with the Board and senior management through the transition.”

Pacific Retirement Services is the parent corporation that oversees 57 individual corporations that serve nearly 4,000 senior residents and employ 2,388 people in five states. Headquartered in Medford, Oregon, PRS develops, operates, and manages a growing family of affiliated Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs), managed retirement communities, 25 affordable senior housing centers, charitable foundations serving PRS residents, and a Community Services division that funnels volunteers to support local nonprofits and people in need.

The PRS Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Brian McLemore has been offered, and accepted, the position of President of PRS. Brian began his career 24 years ago, starting out as the Rogue Valley Manor’s Director of Community Housing and Community Services (www. senioraffordablehousing.org) (www.retirement.org/rvmcs). Over the course of his career (first at the Manor and later at PRS), Brian has served in many capacities, and he was an integral part of the team that created Pacific Retirement Services and grew it into a nationally known not-for-profit corporation that “creates and enhances lifestyle opportunities for seniors.”

Prior to being appointed the new President of PRS, Brian served as the PRS Executive Vice President of Development and Marketing. He has overseen the development of more than 1,500 senior housing units, and he has managed nearly $1 billion in the development of senior housing facilities.

Bill Thorndike says, “All of us on the Board are very happy that Brian has agreed to serve as the new President of PRS. He’s been part of the PRS Executive Management Team since the corporation was formed, and he has proven to be a talented leader. It’s a natural transition for him to step in to the position of President.”

Brian is licensed by the State of Oregon as a Nursing Home Administrator, he is a member of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, and he has served as the Vice President of the Oregon Alliance of Senior and Health Services. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Southern Oregon University and he is Past President of the Southern Oregon University Alumni Association.

Brian says, “It’s an honor to be named President of PRS. This is a wonderful company that provides so many essential services to seniors and members of the greater communities where our CCRCs are located. I look forward to working with the many talented and dedicated people who work throughout the PRS family of affiliates and to helping our communities continue to thrive into the future.”
