Capitol Lakes Hires New Health Care Administrator, Kristi Vater

In September 2011, Kristi Vater joined Capitol Lakes, the only retirement community in Downtown Madison, after serving eight years in health care management.

Capitol Lakes(Madison, WI)  – October 10, 2011On September 19, 2011, Kristi Vater became the new Health Care Administrator at Capitol Lakes, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Downtown Madison. A licensed Wisconsin Nursing Home Administrator since 2003, she previously served as Administrator and Executive Director, successfully raising the standards of three other skilled nursing facilities. Now she is overseeing Capitol Lakes’ 98-bed Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, with a staff of more than 130 employees.

“We are so fortunate to have Ms. Vater on our healthcare team,” says Tim Conroy, Executive Director of Capitol Lakes. “Her credentials, skillful management, and philosophy of service are a perfect fit for our community.”
Ms. Vater says she was drawn by the people at Capitol Lakes. “Everyone at Capitol Lakes and its sponsor, Pacific Retirement Services (PRS), are very friendly and welcoming,” says Ms. Vater. “The residents come first, in policy and in practice, which is important to me. Perhaps it is because they are not-for-profit organizations, but warmth and caring seem to be inherent
in the corporate culture.”

“I was also thrilled to return to Madison,” says Vater. “There is so much to do, and the people in Madison are unique. They are affluent and well-educated, and yet down to earth with a desire to help others. This is reflected in the residents at Capitol Lakes. It is a very active and involved resident population, and I enjoy being part of it. They volunteer and are always finding ways to involve skilled nursing residents in their activities.”
“Capitol Lakes and PRS have excellent reputations in the industry, which impressed me,” says Ms. Vater. “PRS has added resources that support our ability to provide excellent care, and I can access its corporate expertise, which is invaluable.”

In addition to serving residents, Capitol Lakes welcomes the public to receive inpatient and outpatient care in its Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Other senior living and care options include Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care for Alzheimer’s and other memory conditions.
